LAHORE:
The recruitment process of 500 officers at Punjab Saaf Pani Company has been challenged in Lahore High Court through a stay application.

In his plea, Advocate Sheraz Zaka stated the matter of establishment of different companies was already in court while the Saaf Pani Company initiated the process to fill up to 500 vacancies.

The officers hired against the advertised posts may face irreparable damage to their reputation if the court rules against the company’s formation, he contended.

The lawyer added the provincial companies, whose objectives were restricted to one province, could not be formed under a federal statute of Companies Ordinance, 1984.

Requesting the court to immediately stop the recruitment process at Saaf Pani firm, Advocate Sheraz said there should be a provincial law to form such companies.

LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah will take up the case on Monday.
