Directs officials to accelerate speed of work
'No negligence or delays will be tolerated in the ongoing construction work at the Teaching Hospital Gujranwala'
LAHORE:
No negligence or delays will be tolerated in the ongoing construction work at the Teaching Hospital Gujranwala, said Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq on Thursday.
He expressed these views during a briefing on the construction project of a new DHQ hospital adjacent to Gujranwala Medical College.
The minister directed officials to accelerate the speed of work, adding that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had provided billions of rupees and was taking personal interest in the project.
“There is no shortage of funds and the work should be carried out on the project in two shifts for completing the project in the stipulated period so that timely provision of health facilities can be ensured to the people,” he was quoted as saying.
The minister was told that funds of Rs700 million were available for a 500-bed DHQ Teaching Hospital to be constructed at a cost of Rs2.4 billion.
