Call to address food security challenge

ISLAMABAD:
Inter-Provincial Agricultural Research Coordination Committee (IPARCC) has stressed the need for active participation of all its members to meet emerging challenges of food security, bio-energy and economic development in the country.

Growing problem: Experts highlight food security issues

The committee, which met with Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (Parc) Chairman Dr Yusuf Zafar, emphasised the need for reviewing ongoing research activities, policies, issues and challenges confronting the national agriculture system.

The committee added that Parc and provincial institutes should work together for the benefit of farming communities across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, the Parc chairman said that such events would be helpful in the future as both sides would share knowledge and ongoing research activities, enhancing the ability to address issues and challenges.
