372 graduate from NUST’s engineering school
Gold and silver medals were awarded to outstanding students
ISLAMABAD:
As many as 372 students passed out from the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SCEE) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) on Wednesday.
A convocation was held at the varsity’s Jinnah Auditorium.
Degrees were awarded to the students for civil engineering, of environmental engineering, geographical information systems, environmental engineering, environmental sciences, geotechnical engineering, remote sensing, transportation engineering, construction engineering and water resources.
NUST Rector Lieutenant General (Retired) Naweed Zaman conferred Bachelor’s degrees on around 196 students while 176 students were conferred Master’s degrees in their respective disciplines.
The President’s gold medals were awarded to Nazeer Abbas for MS in environmental engineering, Maleeha Jamal for MS in environmental sciences, Jamal Ali for geotechnical engineering, Maryam Zafar for MS in Environmental Sciences, Tahir Saeed for MS in remote sensing and Tahir Saeed for graphical information systems.
President’s gold medals were also awarded to Malik Kamran Shakir and Muhammad Adeel for MS in transportation engineering.
Shahid Mehmood Akhtar bagged a gold medal for BE in Civil Engineering.
The rector’s gold medal for best final year projects was awarded to Shozab Mustapha. The chancellor’s silver medal was awarded to Tasneem Mazrzban.
In Bachelors of Engineering in Environmental Engineering, president’s gold medal was awarded to Hafiz Zargham Bin Imran.
Rector’s gold medal for best final year project was awarded to Syed Haider Ali. Chancellor’s silver medal for second best in academics was awarded to Najla Shafqat.
In Bachelor of Engineering in Geo-informatics, a gold medal went to Fatima Afzal, while the rector’s gold medal for best final year project was awarded to Syed Ramiz Sami.
The chancellor’s silver medal was awarded to Tooba Shahzad.
