Attack on house in Naushero Feroz leaves four injured

Four people including women were injured as a group of armed men raided and attacked their house over a dispute in Mehran Town situated within the limits of the Naushero Feroz police station Wednesday morning.

According to residents, a dispute had been going on between two groups of Khaskheli community as Mir Nawaz Khaskheli had refused to give his daughter’s hand in marriage to Saifuddin Khaskheli. Early Wednesday morning, a group of armed men raided and attacked the house of Mir Nawaz Khaskheli and started beating the inmates. As a result, four people, including women, were injured while the assailants torched the house before fleeing.


Residents of the area reportedly rushed to their rescue and put out the fire. They informed the police, which reached the spot and shifted the injured to Civil Hospital, Naushero Feroz. The injured were identified as Manzoor Khaskheli, Shahzado Khaskheli, Mai Siyani and Mai Shama. On the complaint of Manzoor Khaskheli, the police registered an FIR against 15 people, including Saifuddin Khaskheli and Sadiq Khaskheli. Arrests have yet to be made.

When contacted, Naushero Feroz head constable Qurban Ali Kalhoro confirmed the incident and said both the groups had been daggers drawn over the dispute for quite some time. On Wednesday, he said, people belonging to Saifuddin Khaskheli’s group attacked and ransacked the house of Mir Nawaz Khaskheli and injured the residents besides torching the house.
