TCP awards sugar import tender
KARACHI:
The Trading Corporation of Pakistan has awarded a tender for the import of 100,000 tons of sugar to the lowest bidder, Yunan Col Chemical Industry Group of China.
The company had offered to supply sugar at $488 per ton including all expenses. The tender was opened by the TCP on Saturday. The TCP said the proposal submitted by the company meets all technical conditions and rules and regulations of the Pakistan Standard and Quality Control Authority. The TCP said it has so far contracted to import 675,000 tons of sugar, of which 200,000 tons have reached the country.
This sugar is sold at utility stores across the country.The TCP said two more sugar tenders have been issued for import of 200,000 tons. The tenders will be opened on May 22 and 29.
