Google startup incubator Area 120 has created an app just for that. Now it doesn’t matter if you are all huddled around the same screen or not, the new app Uptime lets you watch YouTube with friends.
The app, which was launched on March 12, lets you share and watch videos together with friends no matter where they are. “Easily share your favourite YouTube video and bring friends together to watch, chat, and have fun in real time,” reads the description on app’s website. You can also react while watching the video with emojis and hearts.

One of the interesting features of the app is that it shows an icon from the Google account of those watching the video moving around the screen, indicating where you are on the video.
The app is currently only available on iOS. It is free, but invite only. However, Uptime has been tweeting invite codes from time to time.
For iOS devices, you can download it from here
