Polio campaign 0.6m children to be vaccinated in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR:
Around 0.6 million children, under the age of five, will be vaccinated during a five-day polio immunisation campaign starting on Monday.
This was stated by Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal during a meeting on Saturday.
Saleem said such campaigns must be seen as a national duty and no children should remain unvaccinated.
He added parents should have their children vaccinated so that they remain safe and healthy through their lives.
The meeting was told that 1,369 health department teams will be part of the vaccination drive.
They include 1,077 mobile and 157 fixed teams. A total of 117 teams will be deployed at transit points, while 18 will cover major markets.
