Health care facility: Bahawalpur kidney centre to start transplants

BAHAWALPUR:
The Kidney Centre Bahawalpur will soon start transplantation procedures to provide the best healthcare facilities to the people of southern Punjab, said Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq.
He was talking to the media during his visit to Bahawal Victoria Hospital on Saturday. He said the kidney centre was established for the treatment of dialysis and kidney-related disease while a state-of-the-art operation theatre was also set up.
The minister directed the hospital’s medical superintendent to destroy medical waste in a proper manner and improve cleanliness at the facility.
The minister also visited the hospital’s emergency block, medical stores and cardiac centre and met some patients admitted in the wards and inquired about the facilities being provided to them.
He said the process of providing free medicines to patients was being ensured.
