In times of fourth generation of internet, postal services are still important, particularly for the people living in rural and suburban areas, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad said on Friday. He said this after inaugurating a post office here in Peoples Colony. Post Offices Director General Rubina Tayyab, Post Master General Rawalpindi Circle Ejaz Minhas, Deputy Post Master General Samiullah Khan and notables of the area were also present on the occasion. Talking about postal services, he said, the importance of the services could not be denied even today. People living in far-flung areas were the biggest beneficiaries of the institution of post office, he said. He appreciated efforts of DG Post Offices for providing modern postal services to the people of rural and sub-urban areas. Earlier Robina Tayyab informed that the new post office was built at a cost of Rs2.6 million and would facilitate thousands of residents of the area.
