Justice Nasir passed away after suffering from cardiac arrest

HYDERABAD: A sitting judge of Sindh High Court Justice Syed Saeeduddin Nasir passed away in Hyderabad on Thursday.

According to the deceased's family and health sources, Justice Nasir, 53, suffered a cardiac arrest early morning and was shifted to Liaquat University Hospital's cardiac ward where he breathed his last. Judges of the high and district courts, along with representatives of the SHC and district bar associations arrived at the hospital.

According to an additional medical superintendent, Justice Nasir was referred to Karachi and an ambulance equipped with a ventilator was also arranged. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also reportedly offered a helicopter to shift the judge to Karachi.

The proceedings in the high court and subordinate judiciary were suspended in the afternoon. Since Justice Nasir belonged to Karachi, his body is being shifted to the metropolis.

Justice Nasir was appointed as the SHC judge on May 30, 2014. He was among the five judges sitting in the Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench. His four-week roster sitting started on March 6 and was scheduled to end on April 1.
