Pakistan Railways receives Rs54m
There are a total 1,514 manned level crossings with 1,875 still unmanned

Pakistan Railways has received a sum of Rs54.5 million out of a total Rs105 million from the Sindh government for manning unmanned level crossings. According to a source in the Ministry of Railways, there are a total 1,514 manned level crossings with 1,875 still unmanned. Meanwhile, the total number of vulnerable level crossings was 550 as per the joint survey conducted in collaboration with concerned district authorities in 2013. Pakistan Railways has proactively taken up the issue with the provincial governments and 75 unmanned level crossings out of 550 have been converted into manned level crossings during the fiscal year 2015-16 in Punjab.
