ABBOTTABAD: The Abbottabad bench of the Peshawar High Court Monday dismissed a petition by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Mansehra district council members against budget for the district council.

The bench, comprising Justice Ghazanfar Hussain and Justice Lal Jan Khatak, also vacated a stay the High Court had issued last month.

Shahif Rafiq Khan, a member of the Mansehra district council and PTI leader in the council, had filed a petition through his counsel Advocate Tahir Lughmani three months ago.

He had termed the distribution of the developmental budget among council members as unjust, alleging favouritism and denying opposition members of their due right.

In February, the court had issued a stay order against the use of funds by council members.
