LAHORE:
At a cost of Rs990 million, the police stations of Punjab will be one with the times by 2019 thanks to the inauguration a new digital system.
The project to computerise all of them was inaugurated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday.
The software for the project was developed by Punjab Information and Technology Board to computerise records, handle public complaints and ensure all of Punjab’s police stations are functional. A centralised control room has been established at the Central Police Office to monitor the situation.
Thus far, FIRs and roznamcha reports are being computerised at all police stations of the province.
Police case files related to FIRs can be accessed from any station of the province with an internet connection. The computerisation of all police stations will include the following services.
