I'm proud to be a homemaker: Mira Rajput
Motherhood is the most special feeling in the world, says wife of Shahid Kapoor
Move aside Shahid Kapoor, your wife has everyone swooning over her beauty and brains. Mira Rajput has been facing the camera like a pro and giving interviews like she has been in the business ever since.
At an event on the day of International Women's Day, Mira stood out with her words and her strong opinions related to feminism. "The new wave of feminism is aggressive and destructive. There is a term called 'feminazi' which is now becoming the female equivalent of a male chauvinist," Mid-Day quoted her as saying.

Shahid and Mira received a lot of flak after their appearance on Koffee With Karan, where Shahid spoke of his support for the arranged marriage format where the process of falling in love happens after you're married. "I am a housewife and wear that label with pride," said Mira, adding, "Why can't you be an accomplished homemaker."
Stating that accomplishing something could mean anything one has their heart set on, she stated, "I had a tough pregnancy, bringing Misha (seven-month-old daughter) into this world. Now, I love being at home and spending time with my child. I don't want to spend an hour with her and then rush to work. It's not that I am not a woman of today. You don't have to compromise on traditions and ideals to be modern."
Mira continued, “Don’t be afraid to be yourself. You want to be a mother, you want to be a working woman, you want to be a college student, you want to study your whole life, do what you want," she was quoted as saying.
But that was not it as Mira, vehemently bashed all the people who troll actors on social media for their outfits and said, “I think it’s very immature, it’s about time we accept that the world is made of two halves, men and women, and we must learn to respect each other and to be proud and happy for one another.”
Misha is better than anything I could ever ask for: Shahid
Mira, who recently gave birth to her daughter Misha, agreed that it is motherhood which is the most special feeling in the world. “Motherhood is a very personal journey and it depends on what you would like to do. You know I am healthy from inside and there was no hurry for me to be out and I took care of myself and I am much happier today because I took time for myself and I took time to spend with my child in those initial few months,” she added.
As opposed to other mothers who rush off to work soon after giving birth, Mira has a different point of view. “I do and I love it. I had a tough pregnancy and I would not want to spend, I mean I went through those nine months of a difficult time to bring my daughter into this world, both of us together," she stated.
"So, now I want to spend every moment that I can with her and I think that I am…there is a set of responsibilities that are on my plate and I feel that at my age, I have a lot more energy, I have a lot more … I have my future ahead of me so I can finish all of my responsibilities and then I have nothing in my way. "
Mira shared she is confident that she can raise her daughter, be a good wife and set her home the way she likes. "Not in terms of the way things should be but the way a home must be within its values and ideals. So, nothing will stop me after that but I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child, I wouldn’t have it any other way."
She said she would not want to spend an hour with her daughter everyday and then rush off to work. "Why did I have her? She is not a puppy, you know. I want to be there for her as a mother, and see her grow up has."
