Suspension of judges: LHC to start hearing on 17th

As many as 10 civil judges and an additional sessions judge have challenged the LHC administrative decision

LAHORE: Justice Kazim Raza Shamsi of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday fixed March 17 for hearing the petitions of 11 judges of the subordinate judiciary challenging their suspension.

LHC judge resigns ahead of SJC proceedings into corruption charge

Justice Shamsi remarked that he has fixed the hearing date on Friday so that he could hear the matter at length for being not busy to join any division bench on that day. The judge clubbed all these petitions and ordered the registrar office of the LHC to fix them before him.

As many as 10 civil judges and an additional sessions judge have challenged the LHC administrative decision of their suspension. Through their counsels, the judges submitted in their petitions that they were working smoothly till June 28, 2016 when suddenly they were made officers on special duty (OSD).
