
Traces of rainfall were recorded in Lahore, Jhelum, Sialkot, Gujrat, Bhakkar, Sargodha, Noorpur Thal, Multan and Kamra. Similarly, 3mm rain was recorded in Toba Tek Singh and Jhang; 2mm in Kot Addu, Kasur, Joharabad, Chakwal, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Mandi Bhauddin and Mianwali.
In KP, 2mm rainfall was recorded in Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu and 1mm in Abbotabad. In Balochistan, 1mm rainfall was recorded in Barkhan.
Though it was a working day, a moderate rush was witnessed in public parks and picnic spots on Tuesday after rain as mercury level dropped. Families rushed to the Greater Iqbal Park, Jillani Park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Model Town Park, Jallo Park and other recreational facilities in the city.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s weather report shows another westerly wave entering Pakistan in the next 24 hours that is likely to persist till Saturday.
Under this system, rain and thunderstorm with gusty winds are expected with intervals at scattered places in upper Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad from Thursday to Saturday.
The PMD also forecast rain and thunderstorm at scattered places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir between Wednesday and Saturday. A similar weather system is expected at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan and Sahiwal divisions during the next 48 hours.
