MANSEHRA: A woman was killed reportedly by stray bullet which struck her in the head in a remote Mansehra village, police said on Monday.

Mumtaz Ahmed, a resident of the Kharar Maira Kotkay village, told Saddar police that at around Maghrib, his wife 38-year-old Pervez had gone to milk the buffaloes on their farm when a stray bullet fired by an unidentified man hit her in the head.

When the mother of five did not return home after an hour, Ahmed and other family members went out looking for her.

They found her body at some distance from the farm.

However, Ahmed ruled out the possibility of murder since his family did not have a dispute with any one. The husband also did not wish to register an FIR against anyone.

But with aerial firing a criminal offense; the police are investigating the matter to trace the man who had fired recklessly.
