LAHORE: In order to determine Unaccounted for gas (UFG) benchmarks based on best international practices, local environment and keeping in view ground realities, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) initiated a comprehensive study with the help of an independent consultant.

UFG is one of the most critical element in the gas sector and it is therefore imperative for stakeholders to understand the term ‘UFG’ and the reasons contributing to it. High UFG levels of gas companies have been a major area of concern since it is wastage of scarce resource and to a great extent is avoidable.

Ogra through public notices invited all stakeholders to furnish their comments/views on the draft report with a view to finalise the report. In order to make the process meaningful, stakeholders held engagement sessions. The first session was conducted in Karachi whereas the second session was held on Monday, March 6 2017.
