Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) officers have decided to suspend work for two hours daily from March 21 to 26.

KARACHI:

In a bid to push for a salary increase, the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) officers have decided to suspend work for two hours daily from March 21 to 26.

The central executive committee of the Civil Aviation Officers Association of Pakistan (COAP), in a meeting here on Friday, also decided to stage sit-ins at major airports from March 26 to 28.

COAP Central Information Secretary Obaidur Rehman Abbasi said that officers would not work between 11am and 1pm, while a committee has been formed to plan future course of action.

Meanwhile, COAP representatives met with Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar and received assurances that steps would be taken to resolve the issue.

CAA officers have been demanding a salary increase, which has been on hold for the last one year, despite approval of the CAA board.
