Express May 15, 2010

LAHORE:

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Saturday that US President Barack Obama has acknowledged that Pakistan's nuclear assets are safe.

The prime minister made these comments while speaking to a delegation of German journalists in Lahore.

Gilani called on the international community to help Pakistan in its fight against terrorism. He noted that there has been no other example of a major displacement as was witnessed in the aftermath of the army's operations in the northwest.

He stressed that the European markets must be made accessible to Pakistan, adding that the request will be raised with the European Council in Brussels.
