In the line of duty: CTD official embraces martyrdom in encounter
Police arrest four criminals and seize weapons
SAHIWAL:
An official of the counter terrorism department has been killed while four outlaws have been arrested during an exchange of fire in Sahiwal.
A police official said on Sunday that on a tip-off, CTD Inspector Fida Hussain and his team raided a hideout in Harappa Village. He added, “When the police personnel reached the spot, outlaws opened indiscriminate fire on them.”
He maintained, “The police also retaliated and during the shoot-out, CTD Inspector Fida Hussain embraced martyrdom while a DSP and a police constable suffered bullet injuries.”
“Inspector Fida Hussain fought bravely and was in the forefront during the operation,” the official pointed out.
However, the police managed to arrest four outlaws while two of their accomplices fled the scene under the cover of firing.
The CTD also claimed to have confiscated explosives and weapons from their possession. The police shifted the body and the injured to the local hospital for legal formalities and treatment.
