Special invitation: 200 students watch PSL final
CM Shehbaz says Punjab govt wants to strengthen national unity

About 200 students from all over the country watched the Pakistan Super League final at the Gaddafi Stadium as special guests of the Punjab chief minister.
The students wearing their traditional dresses from Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan watched the cricket match from the Punjab government’s enclosure.
Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif had said the PSL final was a national event and Punjab government wanted to strengthen national unity by involving students of other federating units.“This step will promote national unity, brotherhood and interprovincial harmony,” he said while giving out the instructions.
The CM had also invited students of Daanish schools, scholars of the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF), selected education administrators and health professionals to watch the match.
“These people will watch the final match in Gaddafi Stadium as my special guests. On my invitation, 25 PEEF scholars will watch the final match while eight best education administrators have been invited to watch the match,” he was quoted as saying in a statement.
Similarly 12 best health professionals, including principals, surgeons and professors, also watched the final match
Punjab Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani said: “We are a lively nation and we will defeat terrorists with unity.”
Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir said: “We must prove with our attitude that we are the best nation and international matches can be played in the country.”
