Book launch: Poetic works of Amin Hazeen Sialkoti
Urdu poet Sialkoti’s first ghazal was published in 1904 and was received well in the literary circles of Lucknow.

A ceremony to launch a book on the poetic works of Amin Hazeen Sialkoti would be held today (Saturday) at the Arts Council, Karachi.
Urdu poet Sialkoti’s first ghazal was published in 1904 and was received well in the literary circles of Lucknow.
Although his work continued to be published in literary magazines of the subcontinent, there was a possibility that his entire collection of verses would pass into oblivion. So his daughter-in-law, Dr Jehan Ara Pal, and his grandson Shakeel Pal, retrieved the poems and had a selection published. The Arts Council has arranged the launch of the book at 5 pm today.
