Safer schools: Punjab implementing plan to ensure security
Meeting held to review measures at private, public institutes

The Punjab government is implementing a concrete plan to ensure security at schools. This was stated during a meeting on Thursday to review security arrangements at educational institutes.
It held at the School Education Department (SED) and government functionaries reviewed arrangements at both public and private entities.
Punjab School Education Minister Rana Mashhood, Lahore Mayor Mubashir Javed, SED Secretary Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, SED Director (Monitoring) Rana Abdul Qayyum, Lahore CEO (Education) Tariq Raffique, SP City Muhammad Naveed and representatives of public and private sector schools attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Mashhood said the Punjab government had been implementing a comprehensive mechanism to provide institutional support to educational institutions for their security.
Shaheen said all the heads of public and private sector schools were ordered to ensure foolproof security of their institutions so that the administration could cope with an untoward situation.
Mashhood urged school managements to pay special attention to the monitoring of their schools through CCTV cameras. He further ordered school representatives to ensure the security of all students and teachers through the best possible arrangements and complete implementation of SOPs issued by the Punjab government.
