Former DG Hajj handed over to NAB on 14 day physical remand as Hajj scam investigations continue.

Former director general (DG) Hajj Rao Shakeel has been given into the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab on a 14-day physical remand for investigation of assets acquired beyond his means.

Director NAB Punjab Atiqur Rehman confirming the arrest said that former DG Hajj, arrested earlier by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as a proclaimed offender in the Hajj scam, is now in judicial lock-up.

NAB arrested Shakil after the FIA discovered that he had amassed illegal assets valued at millions of rupees.
