Illegal Stay: Report sought from FIA in bail petition
Justice Naqvi observes the police has no jurisdiction to deal with the cases under the Foreigner’s Act

The Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought a report from Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on a bail petition of an Afghan citizen arrested for illegal stay in Pakistan under Foreigners Act 2016. Jan Gull, through his counsel, contended that he had been living in Pakistan for many years and his children were also born in this country. Justice Syed Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi observed that the police had no jurisdiction to deal with the cases under the Foreigner’s Act.
