New Zealand wants to fly you out for a job interview for free

Applicants are required to appear for pre-arranged job interviews with tech companies

If you’re a techie and like to travel you’re fortunate. You can now take a free flight to New Zealand for a week.

The city of Wellington, New Zealand which claims to be the tech and innovation capital of the South Pacific is looking for tech savvy individuals. However, there’s a catch.

While all the flights and accommodation are paid for, applicants are required to appear for pre-arranged job interviews with tech companies in the district.

Through a programme called LookSee, Wellington wants to bring in 100 people from all over the world to fill 100 jobs. After a week of exploration and meet-ups, job offers will be made to the best candidates. Wanted job roles include, digital producers and creative directors and software developers.

Companies like accounting software group Xero and Weta Digital who did the visual effects for famous films Avatar and Lord of the Rings are based in Wellington.

Interested applicants can make a profile on the on the LookSee website following which employers will put forward their chosen candidates. Applicants with the highest number of nominations will be selected to fly to New Zealand.
