LAHORE: A man accused of murder and robbery, escaped from police custody after he was produced in the sessions court on Thursday. Police said that four men were produced before Judge Attiqueur Rehman Bhinder’s court.

They said when the proceedings were over, they were led to the police van under the supervision of constables Aslam and Shafaqat of the Islampura police station. When they were boarding the van, the constables noticed that one of them, identified as Nisar, was missing. The Islampura SHO has registered complaints against the two constables for negligence and taken them into custody. Five months ago, another accused, Ameen, had escaped from the sessions court.  A naib court, Khalid; orderly Ashiq; and two constables, Yaseen and Ashfaq, were then suspended from service for negligence.
