Pakistan Web Awards: Tribune.com.pk wins second prize
Platinum Award (2nd Position) awarded to Tribune.com.pk in the category "Press & Media".

First Ever Pakistan Web Awards held in Karachi at a local hotel by "The Xeptionalz". Sindh IT Minister Mohammad Raza Haroon was the Chief Guest.
The initiative was supported by IT Department, Government of Sindh, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) & City District Government Karachi (CDGK).
At the occasion, the new revamped look of Sindh Government Web Portal and Sindh IT Department's website were also demonstrated. Raza Haroon briefed about the enhancement of these websites and appreciated the work.
Diamond Award (1st Position) for the best website in Pakistan went to www.satmaptrg.com nominated under category "IT/ITeS".
Platinum Award (2nd Position) goes to www.tribune.com.pk in the category "Press & Media".
For Gold Award (3rd Position) tie-up occurred and 2 websites www.ufone.com & www.jazzjazba.com won Gold Award. Both the websites were nominated under category "Cellular / Telecom Companies".
Special Award was announced for www.pakistan.pk, the National Rabta Informational Portal of Pakistan developed by PakistanTelecommunications Authority (PTA).
There were more than 130 websites nominated in 35 categories. Each Category Winner was given a "Silver Award".
Jury Panel was consisted of Mr. Arshad Khalil, CEO KTF Education, Arena Multimedia, Mr. Talib Syed Karim, Rector and Executive Director of Management Excellence Center, Institute of Business Management, Mr. Sohail Aziz, Council Member at Marketing Association of Pakistan and Representative of Messe Berlin in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Barrister Zahid Jamil, IT Law Expert, National Response Centre for Cyber Crimes, Pakistan and Mr. Atiq Ur Rahman, Head of Marketing, RAKCODS & Business Development Advisor at Riphah International University, UAE.
IT Minister Sindh while appreciating the initiative, emphasized on enhancement of standard of Corporate Websites. He commended the efforts behind gathering this talent on a single platform and said that Web Awards may be made an annual happening in order to keep our websites ready to compete globally by this healthy competition.
Earlier, CEO Arena Multimedia Arshad Khalil and DG-IT Sindh, Mohammad Yousuf also shared their views. EDO IT, CDGK Syed Mushtaq Hussain Rizvi; Director of organizing company Huma Adeeb; Majid Hussain and Project Advisor Adeeb Aijaz were also present at the occasion.
