ABBOTTABAD:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a mobile short messaging service (SMS) to ensure attendance of students in school and keeping their parents informed through daily alerts.
The K-P chief minister’s adviser on information Musthaq Ghani inaugurated the attendance card service for school and colleges of Abbottabad on Friday.
The adviser said that the new service was part of the education sector reforms which had already seen a monitoring system employed to ensure attendance of teachers in schools and colleges.
Developed by the LogicGate company, Ghani said the service would keep the parents informed about the daily attendance, absenteeism, leaves of students. Further, it would inform them about exam schedules and results, provide education related-messages, vacation schedules and other study-related information.
