PU Teachers Front slams Academic Staff Association.

LAHORE: The faculty members of Punjab University’s Institute of Geology have warned of staging a protest demonstration if the varsity administration does not change its decision of appointing Dr Shahid Ghazi as the department’s new director.

Senior teachers of the PU expressed these views while addressing a press conference on Friday. They criticised PU Vice-Chancellor Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir and Registrar Dr Naeem Khan for, what they termed, ‘illegal appointment’ of the new director at the geology institute. They alleged the appointment was in sheer violation of the decision of the syndicate.

The faculty members alleged that Dr Shahid Ghazi was removed in 2015 on the charges of corruption and misconduct.

They said the syndicate had approved the appointment of Dr Sameeni till 2019 and he was working efficiently and all the faculty members of the department were happy with his performance.
