                                        ISLAMABAD:

The Senate Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges on Wednesday directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) to resolve the issue of 1,400 acres of land belonging to National Agriculture Research Centre (NARC). The committee in its meeting held at Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary services (PIPS) with Senator Jahnzeb Jamaldini in the chair, recommended that the 1,400 acres land issue of NARC and CDA should be included in the next cabinet meeting agenda. CDA and CADD want to convert the land meant for agriculture research into a housing society. The issue has been raised many times since 2015. NARC houses experimental fields, laboratories, greenhouses, a gene bank, a library, a documentation centre, an auditorium, machinery and lab equipment repair workshops. The committee also took up the issue of fake educational degrees and said the verification process should be continued.
