Crippling virus: Polio drive starts in Bahawalpur
At least 1,077 mobile teams had been constituted
BAHAWALPUR:
A three-day polio campaign was inaugurated in Bahawalpur on Tuesday. Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal launched the drive by administering polio drops to a child at Civil Hospital.
At least 1,077 mobile teams, 157 fixed teams, 18 teams to cover various business centres and 20 teams for Cholistan Desert had been constituted. Besides, a two-day special round on February 24 and 25 would also be conducted to administer polio drops to left over children.
Saleem said: “Polio free society is vital to establish a vibrant, dynamic and highly skilled human resource base in the country.”
