KARACHI:
Military courts should be established but they are not a permanent solution to terrorism, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Arif Alvi said on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference at Insaf House along with the party leaders Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Samar Ali Khan and Dawa Khan Sabir, Alvi said the federal government should focus on the implementation of National Action Plan.

The PTI leaders condemned the blast at the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and termed it the failure of the state in providing adequate security.

Alvi said the nation was depressed over the blast at the shrine as the state institutions failed to provide security at such sensitive places.

He also criticised the Sindh government, saying it was its incompetency and bad governance that there was no medical facility in Sehwan for the injured who were shifted to hospitals as far as 100 kilometres.

“They have been ruling the province for the last eight years but even then they failed to provide health facilities to the people of Sindh,” said Alvi. “It is sad to know that the first ambulance to reach the blast site approached after an hour and a half.”

The rulers of the country are busy minting money for themselves while their voters are suffering badly without basic facilities that are the responsibility of the state, said Alvi.

The PTI leader termed it shameful how the authorities threw the body parts of the deceased in drains and garbage. “What more should one expect from them?”
