Bail Cancelled: FIA arrests MCS scam suspect
Malik Javaid Akhtar was arrested after Special JudgeCentral Islamabad rejected his bail
ISLAMABAD:
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Tuesday arrested Malik Javaid Akhtar for his alleged involvement in embezzling millions in a housing society scam. Akhtar had been accused of embezzling Rs74 million in connivance with the management of the Medical Cooperative Society (MCS) in Islamabad.
He was arrested after Special JudgeCentral Islamabad rejected his bail. He would be produced before the court today (Wednesday) when the FIA is expected to seek his physical remand. The former president of MCS, Khalid Javaid, is already on judicial remand.
