Director General South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summoned on Tuesday Indian deputy high commissioner at the Foreign Office, and condemned unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian troops at the Line of Control (LoC).
Three Pakistani soldiers were killed when Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing in Thoob sector near Bhimber along the LoC on Monday.
The deliberate targeting of civilians and soldiers is condemnable and contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws, Dr Mohammad Faisal conveyed to JP Singh, said a statement issued on Monday.

The DG urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding between the two nations, investigate incidents of ceasefire violations and instruct the troops to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit.
In recent days, the LoC and Working Boundary has seen renewed shelling after a relative calm for few weeks especially after the change of command in the Pakistan Army.
According to Pakistan Army, Indian forces committed at least 178 ceasefire violations along the LoC and Working Boundary in 2016, killing at least 19 civilians and injuring 80 others.
