Brilliant captaincy from Brendon McCullum nearly sealed an spectacular victory for his team but it was Peshawar Zalmi who registered their second win of the tournament at Dubai Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing just 60 runs to win the match, it was expected that Zalmi's will achieve the target with ease. However, some outstanding leadership from former New Zealand captain McCullum took the game to the 17th over, when Peshawar finally achieved the target with seven wickets down.

England limited overs captain Eoin Morgan finished the innings with the top score of 23 off 26 balls with the help of three fours.

For Lahore, leg-spinner Yasir Shah bowled an outstanding spell, where he picked up four wickets and just gave away six runs in his four overs.

Earlier, Peshawar captain Darren Sammy won the toss and decided to bowl first.

His decision paid instant dividend as Lahore kept losing wickets at a regular interval and were eventually bowled out for just 59 runs in the 11th over.

Middle-order batsman Fakhar Zaman finished the innings with top score of 33 off 19 balls with the help of four fours and one six.

For Peshawar, pacer Hasan Ali claimed three, whereas England's Chris Jordan picked two wickets.

Presentation:

Yasir Shah (Man of the match): I want to thank the Almighty. My captain supported me a lot. I tried to attack because there was not a lot of runs on the board, so my goal was to pick wickets because that was the only way we could’ve won the match.

Brendon McCullum: It’s not often when you get out for 60 and then take opposition’s seven wickets, but I guess in those kind of situations, it’s attacking mindset which actually helps. We wanted to attack but the pitch was not that bad. Credit to the boys who kept fighting. We’ve only won one out of three matches, but we are playing really well. I am happy where we sit at the moment and hopefully we can improve.

Darren Sammy: After that kind of bowling performance, we thought it would be easy, but it was an ugly win, and sometimes it’s ok. I don’t think the coach will be too happy with the batting performance. After the first game where we scored 190, everyone thought the pitch is a flat, but it’s not that easy.
