LAHORE:
A microfinance bank has gone to court seeking case against 14 customers for issuing cheques of loan instalments worth Rs1.47 million that bounced.

Petitioner Waqas Bashir on behalf of the bank submitted that the suspects obtained loans and stopped paying instalments afterwards. After lingering on the mater on one after another pretext, the customers issued some cheques from different bank.

The cheques, however, bounced and could not be cashed. When contacted by the bank staff, the suspects threatened them with dire consequences.

When the bank representative approached the area SHO, he refused to register cases against the suspects.

The petitioner requested the court to direct the SHO concerned to register FIRs against the suspects for giving the bank forged cheques rather than paying their loans back.
