Cleaning up: PU to take on status of green campus

LAHORE:
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir said the varsity is being given the status of a “green campus”.

He was addressing the launch ceremony of a tree plantation campaign under the Prime Minister’s programme at the Centre for Integrated Mountain & Research (CIMR). CIMR Director Dr Khalida Khan, deans of various faculties, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.


Addressing the ceremony, Dr Mueen said, “If we want to ensure sustainable life, we must ensure a sustainable environment”. He urged the participants to work on ideas to open new avenues of development. He asked the students to spread the message of environmental protection to create awareness. He said that PU administration would extend its complete support to saving the environment.
