Irregularities in draw: Anti-corruption officials seize record of housing scheme
Police also seize 3.72kg of hashish from drug pushers

The ant-corruption officials seized record of a housing scheme on finding irregularities in Sargodha on Tuesday. The action was initiated by Anti-Corruption Establishment Director Asim Raza.
ACE officials said on complaints regarding irregularities in draws held for five marla housing scheme in Quaidabad, Director ACE Asim Raza along with Assistant Director Khurram Anwar, raided the housing office in Joharabad and took into custody the record of draws of the scheme.
The director ordered inquiry on the charge of irregularities. Meanwhile, ACE officials said the action was taken as a result of a Call Attention Notice presented by MPA Karam Elahi Awan in the Punjab Assembly.
Motorcycle lifters apprehended
The police claimed to have arrested a five-member gang of motorcycle lifters and recovered stolen motorcycles from them. A police official said a police team headed by ASP City Hafeezur Rehman raided different places and arrested a five-member gang while 14 stolen motorcycles and Rs2,80,000 in cash were recovered from them. The accused were identified as Tahir, Abdul Rehman, Ali Raza, Tariq and Barkhurdar.
Drug traffickers nabbed
At least five drug pushers were nabbed while illegal weapons were seized from them. Sargodha police range spokesperson said on the direction of RPO, the teams of Khushab, Mitha Tiwana and Naushehra police stations raided different areas in their jurisdictions and arrested five drug peddlers. The police also recovered over 3.72 kilogrammes of hashish, 22 bottles of liquor and a pistol from them.
They suspects were identified as Kashif Nawa, Jahanzeb, Muhammad Mehboob, Manzoor Ahmed and Amjad Abbas.
Unhygienic meat confiscated
The team of livestock department seized unhygienic meat from factory area police limits. The police said livestock team along with police conducted raid at a butcher’s shop situated in Istaqlalabad Colony and seized over 800 kilogrammes of unhygienic meat. However, the shopkeeper managed to escape from the spot. The police have registered a case against three butchers identified as Zulfiqar, Iftikhar and Tariq.
