A consumer court on Friday issued a notice to the owner of Sial CNG Station for March 30 in a suit seeking payment of Rs1 million for allegedly providing adulterated CNG on high rates.
The petitioner, Naeem Mehar, said that he got his vehicle filled with CNG from Muhammad Khalid’s CNG station in Pindi Bhatian on February 12.
He said the respondent charged Rs57.03 per kilogram (Kg) while the notified maximum rate determined by OGRA at that time was Rs55.33 per kg.
He said that the staff at the filling station behaved rudely with him when he asked them about the difference in their GNG rates.
He also said that the gas was adulterated and damaged his car’s CNG kit and the engine.
He asked the court to direct the respondent to pay Rs1 million as damages for the loss and the mental torture.
The court issued notice to the respondent for March 30.
When contacted, Muhammad Khalid, the respondent, said that the allegations were false.
He said that it was the petitioner who shouted at his staff.
He said the staff had indeed offered him to leave without paying for the CNG, if he was not satisfied.
He said he had also apologised to the complainant personally after there was a scene.
