Domestic dispute: Woman ends life after throwing acid on husband, son
Police say woman took extreme step in sheer frustration
MULTAN:
A woman committed suicide over domestic dispute after throwing acid on her husband and son in Multan on Wednesday.
A police official said victim Asmat Bibi, 40, and her husband Ameen often exchanged hot words and used to argue with each other which had become their daily routine.
However, after becoming fed up from domestic disputes and in sheer frustration, Asmat Bibi sprinkled acid on her husband and 12-year-old son Abdullah. Later, she ended her life by consuming the acid.
Both Abdullah and Ameen were rushed to Nishtar Hospital where doctors say their condition was stable. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
Earlier in 2016, a 36-year-old woman attacked a man with acid for declining her marriage proposal in Multan. Shamim, resident of Moza Gharyal in Multan district’s Makhdoom Rasheed area, threw acid on Sadaqat, 24, after he refused to marry her.
Meanwhile, three people were injured when six vehicles collided with each other due to dense fog in Multan. Rescue 1122 officials said the vehicles, including a bus and five cars were heading towards Multan when they collided on Bahawalpur Road due to dense fog.
As a result, three people suffered injuries. The injured were shifted to a local hospital for treatment.
