LAHORE: The Punjab Road Safety Authority will start functioning from March 16 this year in three selected districts, including Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan.

This was stated by Punjab Minister for Information, Excise and Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman as he presided over a meeting at his office on Wednesday.|

In the first phase, the authority has been mandated with providing a safe and secure environment on roads by eliminating accidents and setting up prompt medical facilities. While addressing the meeting, the minister said the authority was another milestone achievement of the Punjab government.

He said it would help decrease road accidents and provide a safe and secure traffic system. “This will give new confidence and hope to the people and mothers will no longer be worried about the safe return of their kids,” he said.
