PESHAWAR: A top police official in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has directed district police officers to sensitise people and public representatives about the salient features of the new Police Act 2017.

Inspector general of police Nasir Khan Durrani was chairing a meeting to review the law and order situation in the province. He also passed several instructions about improving public-police liaisons. Additional IGPs headquarters, operations, special branch, investigation, DIG CTD, DIG headquarters, AIG establishment and all DPOs attended the meeting.

Durrani asked participants to “sensitise” their subordinates so they could be on their best behaviour with the public. “All threat alert calls should be taken seriously while the performance of the Dispute Resolution Councils and Public Liaison Councils shall be reviewed periodically,” he said.
