LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court has summoned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman and a deputy director who investigated the illegalities in the establishment of Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan’s sub-campus in Lahore.

On Monday, Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi observed that students deposited their fee to the university but did not get a recognised degree. He implored that fraudsters were busy in swindling the public and NAB did not take any action. The BZU vice-chancellor also presented the complete record of the students enrolled at the Lahore sub-campus.

The HEC chairman stated that a facilitation centre could be established at the office of University of Health Sciences in Lahore for the enrolment of students.

The bench put off the hearing till February 7. In October 2015, NAB had arrested BZU’s former vice-chancellor Dr Khwaja Alqama over alleged illegalities and violation of rules in the establishment of the varsity’s Lahore campus.
