Junaid Bhutto, the brother of the slain leader, registered an FIR at the City police station, nominating former labour wing leader Abdul Hakeem Dasti, who has been arrested, in the case. He claimed in the FIR that Dasti used to give life threats to his brother and had also previously attempted to kill him. In reaction to Dasti’s arrest, some people tried to force the market areas to shut down.

However, the police arrested six persons and prevented the shutdown. Bhutto, who worked for a pesticides company, was married and a father of three children.
