Suspect had been named by parents of one of the deceased girls, police say

The crime surfaced after a minor girl went missing during a wedding in her locality

Dera Ismail Khan police claimed on Sunday to have nabbed a 25-year-old man suspected of raping and killing three minors.

Investigation Officer Sanaullah Khan Marwat told The Express Tribune that "Muhammad Bilal had been named by the parents of an eight-year-old girl who had disappeared from a wedding." The body of the deceased was recovered from a sugarcane field two days later. It has been sent to a hospital for autopsy.

Police said the suspect had confessed to killing the child after raping her. Officials said the suspect had also confessed to raping another two minors after abducting them.


On Saturday, a man suspected of raping a minor boy was arrested and sent on two-day physical remand by a local court. The city police said that T*, 8, of Sufaida Village was playing outside his house on Thursday when AJ*, a resident of Allai Tehsil in Battagram District, dragged him into some nearby bushes and raped him.

The suspect fled from the scene, leaving the boy unconscious. After some time, some neighbours saw the boy and informed his family. When the boy regained consciousness, he said AJ* had raped him.

The accused was arrested while attempting to flee from the village and was produced before a judicial magistrate, who sent him on physical remand for two days for further interrogation.
