Two ‘robbers’ tortured to death by mob in Karachi

In Korangi neighbourhood, enraged people set on fire three suspected snatchers, leaving one dead, two injured

Enraged people killed at least two suspects who were allegedly carrying out robberies in two separate areas of Karachi on Sunday.

According to reports, a suspect was robbing a milk shop in Landhi’s Babar Market where a number of people caught and shot him dead after brutal torture. Police sources said that the identification of the suspect could not be ascertained.

In another such incident in Korangi’s Allahwalla town, people caught three suspects who were snatching valuables from a car traveller. Later, the irate citizens set the snatchers on fire, killing one suspect on the spot while injuring others, including a female suspect.

The deceased was later identified as 22-year-old Usman whereas his accomplices were identified as 32-year-old Samina and 40-year-old Muhammad. Police claimed to have recovered two pistols from the possession of the accused.

Meanwhile, a body bearing torture marks was recovered from the jurisdiction of Police Station Ibrahim Hyderi. The deceased could not be immediately identified.

Police said strict action will be taken against those who resorted to brutal torture of the suspects which resulted in two casualties.
