Learning about structures the hard way
SUKKUR:
Ten class one students were injured when the plaster of their classroom’s ceiling fell on them on Thursday.
The six-year-olds were studying at a government school in Bachal Shah Mayani when it happened. Parents and children protested against the precarious condition of the building. “We’re too scared to send our children to school now,” said parents. They also complained that the school did not use its allotted funds for repairs. Several years have passed since maintenance work was last carried out.
Meanwhile, the headmistress of the school said that they have informed the authorities of the condition of the building several times but they have yet to take any action.
